Gas boilers work by burning a fuel source, such as natural gas or propane. The heat from the flame is transferred to cooler water running through a pipe inside the boiler. The newly heated water exits the boiler and runs through a series of pipes in your house, such as a radiant heating system. Once the heat is transferred to your home, the now cooled water returns to the boiler system to repeat the process. The most inefficient process in boiler operation happens when the combustion gases (exhaust) leave the house through the flue.

Scheduled AC and heat to be installed in January 2022. The company took their time to install (8 weeks) because they could not find an AC unit. Once the AC unit was installed, they did not inspect or test the AC unit. Months went by and the AC unit never worked as we emailed them trying to get someone out here. We have email after email trying to contact them and GOOD LUCK.

No one ever came out and the AC unit does not work. Finally got a hold of the General Manager, Casey, who forwarded me to the correct people to talk to, and then that person (Lindsey) told me that they were booked this week and it is JUNE now. Six months have gone by and they still haven't fixed their mistake. When I tried to talk to them about it, they told me it was okay because we "live by a Lake." This has been the most incredibly unprofessional company I have ever dealt with in my 33 years of living. If you're okay with them taking their time installing equipment, and it not working by the end of it all, then by all means. try them out.

I don't know if there was a change in the service department but both my husband and I have been calling non stop regarding our heat pump. We had cardinal out on Friday and our Unit is failing after only three years. The service person said it was their fault at the line (line is leaking) and that two sensors were failing. Now we can't get ahold of the one guy apparently we have to talk to and have no heat, this is day 4! We will be getting service from another company from here out. We tried to support local.

Our furnace stop working when 4 of snow had fallen in the morning. I called Cardinal Heating and spoke with Tony M. After talking with Tony M. for 5 minutes. Tony M. was able to diagnose my furnaces problem and help me over the phone to get my furnace working again. I give Tony M. 5 stars for his awesome service.

So I called Cardinal today asking to get on their calendar for a standard furnace maintenance appt. I was told they no longer provide furnace maintenance services. even though it is a furnace purchased from them only four years ago. I asked for a referral and they said they didn't know of anyone that would service their furnaces. Big Red Flags. going out of business soon?

For $325.10, invoice 77106, these guy's pretended to try repairing my heat pump. He smashed over some of fins on the inside coil while raking the vacuum head across the fins "cleaning it". After that he connects the gauges and tells me that the inside TXV valve is broken and they can't buy those. So he recommend replacing the whole inside coil (half of the system) or to be sure I should replace the whole system inside and outside coils and pump.

After he left, I cleaned more dirt from the coil myself and was able to straighten the smashed fins on the inside coil. I easily found the TXV valve for $110 at three places in town. Knowing I had been lied to about part availability and the bum rush upsell by Cardinal, I called MM Comfort systems. They came out, connected gauges and found no liquid coolant in there. They found a leak at the outside coil, fixed the leak with no parts required and left with the system fully working in two hours. MM Comfort saved me a fortune.

My service from Cardinal was really good. After I gave up on another HVAC company that both created the problem and then was unable to fix it (after 4 attempts), I gave Cardinal a call. My service tech, Tony was friendly, honest and diligent. When he hit a test result he didn't understand, he didn't simply BS his way through it -- he called a Senior Tech for a consult and debug ideas.

His thoroughness really paid off. I was convinced the compressor was seized up, but Tony found how the hard start wiring was done incorrectly and fixed it straight away. In all, it took about 30 minutes and saved me at least $500. Trust these people with your business! There is a reason they retain their staff for so long.

Critical: Responsiveness It seems as though their 24/7 emergency service is more of a "when we are available" kind of service. Been trying to contact a technician to fix a leak in our hot water heater for hours with no response. Left a message on their system and have yet to have a technician call back.

Love this company! We always went through another company but this time we called Cardinal Heating. Reason was that our a/c decided to go on a permanent vacation at the beginning of the heat wave! On a Friday, I called our company and they couldn't schedule us until Monday! We made the appt to "get in line". I called Cardinal Heating as you were the first company listed. They had someone come to our house that same day! Impressed, I'd say!

Great experience with this business today. Tech Alan arrived for routine inspection and maintenance on heating pump/ furnace system. Alan answered all my questions. Very knowledgeable. Fair warning - their after-hours rate is breath-takingly high. That is, $520 for an hour. $520! Other than that, they were quick to respond, pleasant, knew their stuff, and were clear about the cost upfront. On a weekend they have you over a barrel, but as barrels go, it was a good one.

We can't say enough positive things about Cardinal for coming to the rescue when our AC broke down on a 100 degree day and every other company was weeks out on service with no alternative! Jeff was so understanding and willing to put us on a wait list and just hours later Tony called and was on the way to save us from enduring the heat wave without AC!

$700 and 2 1/2 hours: that's what It took for their technician to decide my Mitsubishi ductless heat pump needed refrigerant, which is what I told him I suspected when he arrived. Two hours in, after saying he'd never seen this problem before, taking the compressor unit apart multiple times, and making two calls to Mitsubishi tech support, he decided to add refrigerant.

That took about 15 minutes and fixed the problem. As he was leaving, I tried to understand what happened: Why did all the refrigerant leak out after only 4 years? He didn't know. How can I keep it from happening again? He didn't know. How will I know if it's running low again? It'll stop working. The refrigerant cost about $50, and their minimum charge for a service call is $300.

After he left I called their office and explained why I was confused. She said she would ask the tech about it. I never got a call back - just a $700 charge on my card. Looks like I'll never know why a $350 repair cost me twice that amount. Thanks a lot, Cardinal.

So happy with Cardinal. Great experience with technician Quincy. My air conditioner broke on the hottest day. Rodent chewed on a wire therefore ruining the capacitor. It was explained in detail and quickly replaced. My heater was also checked and everything was good on that end, being ready for the cooler weather. Thank you so much!

Sorry, but when you buy an all new furnace, ac and hot water heater and your ac doesn't work at all, you expect more from the company than "maybe you should sleep in the basement in the summer".

Cardinal was the only company that I called that promptly called me back. Their tech arrived quickly and took care of our furnace. The tech was really friendly and efficient. I highly recommend them if you have any kind of heating issues.

Very impressed from start to finish with everyone at Cardinal. Tom had provided a quote earlier in the year because we knew the water heater would need replacing. I wanted to hold off, hoping to get another year out of the heater. Not quite! We woke up to a stream of water running out of our garage. I called Grace at Cardinal and she quickly got the right people involved and they were able to come out 2 days later and replace the heater. Alan and Lucas were very professional and thorough in replacing the heater and making sure everything was working. I'd absolutely use Cardinal again and a big thanks to Tom, Grace, Alan, and Lucas to getting our hot water restored so quickly!

They were super responsive and did an excellent job installing the heat pump system and gas furnace, as well as ran new gas lines last year. A few months after everything was done, I tried to reach out to them with some basic questions and (most recently) some quotes to add jumper ducts. I did so via several emails and phone calls in which I left messages as I couldn't get ahold of anyone. They all went unanswered and unreturned. It was nice while it lasted, but I guess I'll have to find another company now.

Working with Cardinal to do a service on my A/C and heating unit was great. Their technician, Quincy, did an awesome job. He walked me through everything he was doing, took his time to explain how the system worked and things to keep in mind to keep it working properly. He was on time, professional, polite, and very knowledgeable. My system works great now and I appreciate everything he did. I would highly recommend Cardinal Heating & Air.

This company installed two Carrier air conditioners for me in 2016. One unit stopped functioning in 2017. Initially, they wanted to charge me for that repair, however it turned out that the new unit had been connected to my furnace incorrectly so after the technician called the office they didn't charge me. This year both units failed to function during the recent mini heat wave.

A technician came out to do a diagnostic and the bill came out to around $500. For a diagnostic only, not a repair. I was told there had been a coolant leak in one of the lines (likely due to their faulty workmanship in 2016) and nearly all the coolant had leaked out. The other unit needed a new circuit board (after less than three years, for some reason).

I told the technician to bill me, and the following day my husband called to complain. There were some vague promises made about making things right. Today two technicians came to fix both units. The bill was nearly $1800 and they demanded payment before they left. Today I also received an invoice for nearly the full amount of previous visit. These units were installed and serviced only by Cardinal.

The initial cost was over $18,000. No one but Cardinal has touched them since they were installed. They have been nothing but trouble. Today I was told that there was no warranty on the work they had just performed and that I would need to buy a service warranty, which must be paid for upfront. Needless to say I declined. Take my advice and do not let these people anywhere near your heating and cooling systems. ***Update: I spoke to James, the service manager, and he reduced the bill for the repairs and diagnostic to a reasonable amount.

It appears there may have been a lack of communication between the office and the lead technician yesterday. I have amended the star rating to reflect this. James also forwarded me further details about the Carrier warranty, which makes me more confident that future problems will be addressed in satisfactory manner.

Called the first day I requested that I needed help. Set a time that worked with me. Confirmed the day before and communicated that they were on the way. Performed a thorough inspection and provided suggestions and outline costs. Verified work would be covered under home warranty and confirmed with me. Quickly and soundly completed work. Went above and beyond and provided preventative work and suggestions for the future on routine maintenance. Provided advice on a Nest unit and encouraged that I could install myself. - Timely responses and great communication throughout the process. - Very nice and professional technician. - thorough inspection and great advice. I would definitely recommend them for Heating as HVAC work!

Great Experience - Local Business - Helpful Staff! This truly could not get any better. I called Cardinal to service four furnaces that I have - two of them in rentals and two at my main home. They were able to squeeze me in the next week and got to all my properties on time and did a super good job! They were priced competitively and gave me a discount for additional homes.

The girls at the desk were very kind and efficient with signing me up and were very friendly. It is great to do business with a local business with such nice staff! Thank you!

These guys were the right people for the job when it came to my 50 year old boiler/hydronic system with 4 zones. Two plumbers had come out previously to diagnose a zone that would not get heat. Their solution, replace everything for thousands of dollars! Cardinal sent one of their hydronic experts out and he properly diagnosed the issue, air in the system with improper design to allow it to clear, and also our circulation pump was not working. 5 hours of work, a new valve and drain soldered in to the basement zone, and a new circulator pump got our system working like new and all for 1/6th the cost of even the cheapest quote from a plumber. Thanks for doing it right with what we have!

Wonderful experience today. Thank you David! My boiler is saved and I can still buy that convertible car I want because I did not have to blow money on a brand new boiler system. Thank you for not up charging me when you saw we have a nice house and cars. I feel He was knowledgeable, took his time to make sure it was properly diagnosed, and stayed to make sure our family would be safe and not burn from home water, confirmed boiler would still safely shut off. If you had ten stars, Cardinal deserve them all. The entire staff, especially our installers Dave and Nick, we're professional, very courteous and the hardest working technicians we have ever had work on our home. We installed a new Mitsubishi heat system and the work was done perfectly, timely and the job site kept immaculately. That group gets our "Best-Ever" award for a job well done. Ten stars!
