During the recent heat wave our central a/c decided it was time to die. Since we knew it would be a large expenditure we decided to get referrals from friends and family. We interviewed 3 companies, one of them being Dowd. Scott M. came out and gave us a quote with different options, answered all our questions and gave us his cell number in case we had more questions.

We decided to go with Dowd because their price was fair (not the cheapest), they have been in Bensalem for 20 years (a big plus for us) and we were told by others they give great service. The installation was set for 2 days after we gave them the go ahead. Their 2 man crew showed up 2 hours EARLY and told us their plan of action. They got to work and never stopped.

The real feel temp was 104 degrees yet we never saw them take a break, indulge in idle conversation or make a personal phone call. They were very professional, stayed focused and kept us informed of their progress. When they were finished they completely cleaned up both inside and outside. We didn't have to do anything but enjoy the cool air. We highly recommend this company and will use them again for any of their services we might need.

The quality of their employees speaks volumes about the quality of their business. Today, we had the pleasure of meeting Bryan. My three year old son was instantly taken with him. I can imagine having a talkative toddler following you while you're trying to work would be annoying to some, but not Bryan, he was so kind. He listened and engaged. It made my sons day.

I first found this company through a google listing when I had an emergency and Horizon (who I had a contract with) couldn't come out. I saw they had a high 5 star rating, called and they came out same day. They've been out a few times maintaining our systems and each time I'm so glad I found them. From the technicians to the ladies in the office this company is awesome.

My air conditioning system was not working on a 95 degree day. This was a Sunday evening. I called several companies and was told they were too busy and to call back in the morning. Horizon, in fact, had me on hold for 40 minutes with no one picking up the phone at all. Scott M. from Dowd came out around 7pm and was extremely pleasant and helpful, even though I am sure he had been working in hot homes all day.

He fixed the problem and got my AC working. He then took time to look in my attic to provide an estimate for me for something else, even though this was the end of his day. I will use this company again.

This is my first time posting a review, however I had an amazing experience with Dowd. My AC went out 2days before July 4th and I had the people who installed ( Fahrenheit) the AC come out and assess the situation. They came out and told me is was the compressor on my AC unit that needed to be fixed and that I would be better off getting a new AC unit as opposed to fixing the compressor, because it's about the same price.

My AC unit was only 4yrs old and covered under warranty. They would not accept the factory warranty, because I did not get THEIR regular scheduled maintenance on my AC unit. I truly felt like Fahrenheit was trying to get over on me because I was a female . I refused to accept that, so I called Dowd. Scott called me and I let him know the situation and he gave me a time he would be coming.

He was prompt and did a detailed assessment of the problem more than what Fahrenheit did. Scott saved me thousands of dollars. He told me it was not the compressor it was the compactor something that assists the compressor ( I hope I'm getting the name right). It took him less than 30 minutes to solve my problem and get my AC running again. I will definitely use Dowd again, and I have already recommended them to a co-worker.

Great company!! The service guy Scott is wonderful, answers quickly and is very professional. Finds the issues quick and comes up with a plan to fix the problem! The technicians Rasheed and Terrence are great and do a fabulous job! Dowds was able to give us financing for a new HVAC! Will continue to use them for my services! Highly recommend!

A great (5) star reputation is hard to attain and even harder to maintain over the years. With Dowd's thoroughness and professionalism, it is clear that they take pride in the work they do. The technician (Scott) was very accommodating to my schedule. He was able to quickly fixed my AC units , while correcting the mistakes of prior technicians (different company) who botched the setup of my smart thermostats .

Dowd's heating and air came to our house on Monday. IInstalled a new heat pump and air conditioning unit. Bob an Bryan were great. After they left they it looked like they hadn't been there, they were so neat. They worked with us in every way. Scott even came back today to set our iPhone to our new thermostat. Pretty neat. I would highly recommend them to anyone who needs a great product and service.

Scott M has been at your home about 3 times since we've started using Dowd's heating and air conditioning service. One they are a superb company. Two Scott has been on point and fixed out heater and air conditioner every time in a fast and professional manner. I highly recommend this company for your heater and air conditioner needs.

I would rate their service EXCELLENT and extremely prompt. I called DOWD Heating Air emergency repair number and within ten minutes the owner, Joe Dowd called me back! Within the hour, a service man arrived. I would recommend them because they are very honest and the work is EXCEPTIONAL!

My experience with DOWD has been OUTSTANDING. They are very professional and honest and gave us recommendations that saved us money. They showed up exactly when they said they would. They answered all my questions and they took the time to explain everything they are rated a 10.

We purchased our HVAC system from Dowd in September 2019. Scott explained everything, and the installation was excellent. Since the installation, we have annual maintenance visits scheduled in the Spring for the AC, and the Fall for the Heat. Dowd has great customer service, both in the office, as well as the technicians. Matt was recently here for the Spring AC check up, he explained everything, and made sure the system is operating optimally. Thanks to the Dowd team for such great customer service!

Dowd installed a new AC system for us last summer and they did an excellent job! Our AC died two days before our vacation. They came out quickly to give us an estimate and worked with our schedule. Our regular HVAC go-to didn't seem to have the time for us so we started googling around and landed on Dowd. Ever so glad we did! Scott scheduled us right away for an estimate and was able to get quality equipment quickly, even in this time of supply chain issues. Professional print out straight from his well marked, vinyl-wrapped truck with good/better/best pricing.

A follow up phone call from the office and quick scheduling. Installers did both the heater and the a/c, were kind and professional. Most importantly, they communicated well with me since I was not on the property that day. Financing option was set up quickly and easily online and I didn't feel like i was treated any differently because of using the financing option. Equipment installed tight and condensed, job site left clean and well marked.

We've been using Dowd for years and are very happy with the service we receive. Very happy with the level of service provided by Dowd. Our furnace fried in the middle of winter and we needed a whole new system installed. Dowd was very responsive and they worked around my schedule. They quickly diagnosed the issue and provided the estimate. I didn't feel like I was being upsold (which is a huge turnoff!). The day of install, the service men showed up on time and performed the work quickly and efficiently.

They were very considerate of the fact that I work from home.they even texted me if they needed to come upstairs as to not interrupt me (or make the dogs go nuts!). They also called a few days after install to make sure I was happy with the work. Very, very pleased and would highly recommend!

I was experiencing issues with lack of heat in my second floor radiators. Did not know who could address the issue. Went on line and found Dowd. Took a chance and gave Dowd a call. My call was received by a charming gracious lady who scheduled my appointment. At the appointed time a Dowd technician, Jim came, quickly identified the issue, parts were ordered and Jim returned in a timely manner and now my second floor radiators are as warm as toast.

I will definitely use Dowd for all my hvac in the future and hopefully Jim will return to again trouble shoot. I highly recommend Dowd. I believe you will receive courteous, professional and knowledgeable service to address any issue you may be experiencing.

I was very satisfied with Dowd and their services. Dimitri was great in my heater maintenance and also cleaning the coils in my heating system. I would highly recommend them and I will continue to use them whenever needed.

Our boiler broke. We called after hours. They returned our call promptly. They gave us a visit time and we're on time. The service gentlemen was knowledgeable, engaging, and very personable. We would definitely use them again. We have even met mentioned their names to other homeowners already. Something about great costumer service. Just goes along way.

Prompt, professional, friendly, accommodating, honest. To be more specific, during a routine maintenance of the furnace in our recently purchased home, they spotted a potentially dangerous safety issue that would require us to not minimally use our furnace until was replaced. They moved quickly to get it replaced to minimize the amount of time during December that we went without heat. They also took the time to educate us about both our old and new systems. Great experience all around, would and will happily use them again.

An update to my review of last year. Dowd continues to provide excellent HVAC support to our home. We've had a maintenance contract with Dowd for a number of years, and they have provided consistently excellent service so that we are confident going into the winter or fall season that our systems will perform to their max. On one occasion our furnace blower died, and we called Dowd to come out and they immediately had a tech to our home, diagnosed our issue and replace the dead part. Heartedly recommend.

If you are looking for a heating and air conditioning service company, I highly recommend Dowd. Every department is focused on customer service. Their technicians are experienced and very knowlegable, answering all my in questions in detail. I have had a heating system installed, and regular maintenance visits. On a recent maintenance call, the tech measured the air quality in my house, and showed the levels to be borderline high.

Although Jim recommended an Air Scrubber, I did not feel pressured to buy it. Since I suffer from allergies, I opted to get one, which was a quick installation in the duct. The air quality will be checked again in the spring, when I expect to see more healthy levels. Overall, Dowd offers the highest quality service, which is often hard to find.

I have been a customer of Dowd's for many years and they are consistently top notch. The technicians are always friendly, polite and professional. They arrive on time, do their work quickly and use the newest technologies to accept payment. I receive receipts quickly by email. They went to bat with a manufacturer for me when there was a warranty issue, and it was resolved in my favor. Dowd has installed a new heating and cooling system and a new water heater and I intend to continue as a customer. Highly recommend.

After moving in to my new home & figuring my ac unit was completely busted I contacted Dowd Mechanical. Within a few days I was able to have a brand new system installed. The install team arrived on time and they were very professional & knowledgeable. The install was done in a few hours & was very clean & neat. Used DOWD to get our zoning unit serviced. Ian and Terrance were super nice and did a great job. we definitely recommend them and will use them again in the spring.

Replacing your HVAC system can be a pretty painful process. I am so glad I was referred to DOWD! They make the whole process a breeze. They are very thorough, very responsive, they answer all the questions you have. When Scott came out for an estimate he was very professional, explained everything in detail, he even had a printer in his van to print out estimates.

He showed us a few units to choose from. Rachid and Ismail were the ones installing the unit and they were great! Scott came out two days after to check if everything was working fine. Dianna and Amanda from the office called a few times throughout the whole process to follow up and see if I had any questions. They take checks, credit cards and they also offer financing. Overall I had very positive experience with this company and I would definitely recommend it to my friends and relatives.

Dowd came out promptly during a very cold and, what I'm sure was a busy, winter storm. My 25 yr old heater died and they had a new one installed within days. I have used them for various services in the past and have always been more than satisfied. The guys were fast, personable, efficient, and very knowledgeable. I called for service on Friday for my oil heater. Diana was very nice and friendly she got a set up with a service call for that night. The service Tech arrived within an hour and a 1/2 of me calling. He diagnosed the problem very quickly and was great. He was knowledgeable friendly and professional. Will defintely call them again

I purchased a Trane Air Conditioner 2 years ago from Dowd Heating and Air Conditioning. I had priced many companies, visited many websites and read many reviews. They were very competitive, and explained the difference in the plans and units and energy efficiency much more than the other companies. I purchased the unit from them and was/am extremely satisfied.

The unit has saved us a lot of money on our Electric Bill and this really helps the budget. They are professional and courteous and their service is EXCELLENT. My air conditioner stopped working last night (due to my not placing my heater door on properly when I changed the filter). I realized this at 1:30pm last night. I called their answering service and this morning I heard from Joe Dowd himself and he came over as soon as I got home today. What incredible service! My husband has a heart condition and I was concerned that it would be too hot tonight. And Dowd saved the day! I RECOMMEND THEM HIGHLY!

They did a good job installing the Trane unit about 3 years ago. recently when I called them with problem with AC, Scott came out and diagnosed the motherboard and switch defect quickly and efficiently and fixed at reasonable cost and explained the whole situation thoroughly. Recently my pilot light mechanism went bad. Scott came out and immediately identified it.

Although he didn't have the replacement part with him he took the initiative to double check the availability and then go back to the office and get the part, instead of scheduling another service call, which is what many other repairman would do. He was courteous and pleasant and very thorough. i recommend Dowd's because of employee like Scott.
