Very knowledgeable people. I was really impressed when the owner himself came out the day we signed the contract. He changed a few items i.e. a bigger unit at no additional cost to us. The house was very clean when they left. My only regret was not going through them directly; however I have no qualms with Home Depot. Thanks everyone for making our home a place we look forward to coming home to on a hot day.

The installers were polite the way it use to be, even though they were younger. I thought the younger generation lacked the respect we were taught and they showed us otherwise thanks.

Called for annual service, no problem, 4 years old. Was told that the unit was cycling on and off to much. Two weeks later in a 64 degree home, I wrote a check for $1953.00 only to have NO HEAT the next a.m. Now, I was told the entire heat/ac unit must be replaced. Some repairs, huh? Skilled technicians, huh? I was offered a replacement for ONLY $10,000.00. No way from them!

You can't spell TRUST without US, huh?! Well, trust is the very last word I could possibly think of to describe my experience with Columbus Worthington Air. This is the first time that I've dealt with this company and will be the last. Everything started out fine. I called shortly after they opened at 7 am last Friday to schedule a service call. We were pretty certain that our blower motor had went out, but needed to confirm that.

My information was taken and I was told that they would have someone call me back to schedule my appointment time. No problem. Shortly thereafter I received a call and explaining that a technician would be at our home between 9 and 12. No problem. Later on I received another call from someone apologizing that they'd missed my call and were calling back to schedule our appointment time. I explained that they hadn't missed my call and that I'd already received a call back with an appointment time.

I called in order to get information regarding the return side of the duct work system in my house. There is a single register on the second floor down a hallway from master bed and bathroom, the room seems to stay much warmer than other areas of the house. My understanding is that the bed room door would need a very large door undercut or a transfer grill or a dedicated return, or some type of low resistance path returning air in order to balance the system.

I spoke to a sales type person with limited information, and informed me that they do not do any work with the existing duct work and were unable to provide any information at any price. They were of course able to quote me new system install. Which is unbelievable to to put a brand new air handler in a house and not have the ability or the willingness to know, in any way how the rest of the system is functioning. An assessment and balancing of the existing duct system even a part of the installation of a new unit, is not something this air conditioning company is interested in or capable of doing.

They have worked on my AC system twice in the last year and did an excellent quick job each time

From start to finish, A1 has been top notch! Matt was super thorough in explaining the estimates to me and ensuring the rebates currently offered would be applied. The office got me on the books as soon as I was ready to schedule, the installers were super quick, skilled, friendly and tidy. And then when I had follow up questions after the installation, Matt was on hand to help me out. They installed a new all-electric HVAC system and water heater and I couldn't be happier with my choice of A1 for the install!

We noticed our air conditioner would go on, but there was no cool air coming out of the vents. I called on a Monday and Cali was very nice and helpful. She scheduled a tech to come on Tuesday. Jason came to our house on time, was very knowledgeable and told us we still had a few years left on our a/c unit so he fixed it instead of pressuring us into a new one! I will definitely keep their number and call again with HVAC needs. Thank you, A-1 Guaranteed!

We've been using the A-1 guaranteed service plan since we purchased this home in 2018. we do two annual checkups on our systems, heat in the fall and AC in the spring. these checkups keep our systems running smoothly. our tech, brian always does a great job and thoroughly examines all of the equipment. he then explains very clearly what is going on and let's us know what kind of shape our systems are in. this way we can look for potential issues and if necessary, (which so far has not been the case), repair, so that when we need heat or AC, we have it. great job and i highly recommend A-1

About 10 years ago we had A1 install new heating and A/C, new Ducting, new windows and doors, new thermostat, and new insulation in the attic. I had 2 small children at the time and a huge dog and they did an amazing job of being low impact on our house so we could still hang out with all the construction. The work was affordable and 10 years later we haven't had a single issue with any of the equipment or work.

They walked us through the financing options so we could afford all of the work and our out of pocket cost every month actually went down because of the new energy efficiency of our older home. They are a great company that really cares about their customers and the community.

Brian our repair technician worked on all three heating and cooling systems in our custom home. He was very professional, efficient, explained in detail his finding and recommended repairs without pressure. He represented A-1 with the highest customer service and left no mess. I want him as my long term service technician. I am glad I signed up for the annual maintenance service. Well done Brian and see you next time

Every person we dealt with during this installation was Informative, responsive and made us feel comfortable. We changed out an old gas furnace to a heat pump system. They were out front about the state's $3000 rebate for moving to the economical and eco-friendly heat pump. The office was the model of efficiency helping us with all our project's needs. Roger and his install crew were on-time, diligent and thoroughly professional. Great home improvement experience.

Technicians Joe and Casey came to my house to install my new heat pump and new vent were professional and friendly. They explained everything they were doing and most importantly they cleaned up after themselves.

Eric just came by to install wifi to my system. Just like the last time, showed up on the early side of the appointment window, very professional, wore a mask, even after I said we were triple vaxed, helped me walk through the set up of the app. Answered my questions. These folks are great. I highly recommend them.

Had final inspection by the city on our new HVAC system today. A-1 sent a Rep to meet the inspector. Everything went smooth and passed with flying colors. Look up the different things A-1 does other than HVAC, like solar, windows, water heaters, insulation. You'll be happy you did. Thank-You again for great service.

We have used A-1 for inspection, service issues and a repair. They have always tried to accommodate our needs in a timely manner. The repair we needed was scheduled for the next day but got bumped up to same day! We count on this Company's support! I did not research the cost of Freon and I am choosing not to after the repair. It's very expensive! Happy the problem is solved.

Recently we decided to replace our 100 year old, original gravity fed furnace. It was wrapped in asbestos and took up a TON of space. We had nicknamed the furnace "medusa", and we were happy to see her go! We started to speak to various vendors of heating and air, and everyone had a different take on what to install as a replacment. Some recommended a gas furnace with a cooling system alongside it.

Others recommended electric heat pump systems. There was a big debate as to where to locate a new cold air return (since we had never had one in our old house). We eventually met with Matt Hiteshaw from A-1 Guarantee who explained to us the value of going with an electric heat pump system (a Ducted Minisplit Inverter Heat Pump by Fujitsu). This electric system would take advantage of the solar energy generated by our newly installed solar panels. Contrary to what other vendors had told us, it would heat our house effectively, and it would be quiet!

We signed the contract, and we were put on the calendar for approximately 8 weeks later. That is pretty good in this day and age of a post-pandemic remodeling surge. A-1 Guarantee assigned a terrific person to manage our project - Kenya Davis - who followed up promptly on all of our questions and helped in scheduling the inspections required by the city.

I never met her in person, but I "felt" her smile coming through on the telephone. She was a great pleasure to work with. A-1 Guarantee was accommodating of our need to remove the gravity fed furnace a month ahead of the install date, and came the day after we had conducted abatement to remove the remainders of our huge furnace ( BTW: Asbestos abatement was done by another terrific company called Eisen Environmental in Concord, CA).

During that visit, Casey Kinnard and Joe discussed the best design of our future system, and decided to change our contract to include a vertical unit rather than horizontal. This was a great design decision, or our entire utility room would have been covered with heating ducts. They did not charge us extra when they made this change. A-1 Guarantee also installed a heat pump, "tanked" water heater (50 gallon hybrid heat pump water heater by Ruud), and we are quite happy with the efficient electric water heater.

The company handled applying for all of the rebates with BayRen related to the water heater and furnace and deducted the dollar amounts for these rebates directly off of our invoice (prior to when they actually received the money from the various rebate agencies). Post installation, we need a few things "tweaked" (including rerouting of the drain pipe from the water heater). A-1 Guarantee came out immediately and improved on their initial design, without any additional cost to us.

Their name is very reflective of your future experience. They "guarantee" you will be happy! They are SO ACCOMODATING! We have now had our furnace and water heater since September 2021 (6 months), and have enjoyed a very cozy winter with comfortable and consistent temps in our house. The water heater is very efficient as well. We highly recommend this company!

A-1 Guaranteed Heating, etc. in Vallejo (707-712-8082) recently installed a 2 stage furnace in my home. Kirk Schlichting visited, estimated the cost, and patiently and fully explained the process & equipment. He answered my additional questions by return phone call or e-mail. Kenya Davis in the office followed w/scheduling & other issues quickly and thoroughly. The office even handled the rebate paperwork for me. The install team was on time, cleaned uo, I suggest you interview them yourself when considering heating systems.

Today we had our maintenance done on our furnace. Brian came within the time frame I was given for the appointment. Great service and he was informative going over the details and recommendations.

Excellent installation very professional. I had them add about 30' of heating duct and remove some existing duct work. Good estimate response, reasonable price, no adders did work in less then one day. The following inspection and County inspection was a little confusing, but went ok.

Just to mention that Matt came back shortly after the installation to repair the damage to the heat pump exterior and fix another small problem. We felt completely confident that he stands behind his work and that we can count on him 100%. Highly recommended!

We have been using A-1 Guaranteed Heating and air now for quite some time. They actually installed our heating/air conditioning unit about 10 years ago and we have a contract with them. They have always been very considerate and timely. I have dogs that I need to lock up when they come so the technician always calls ahead. When we need service they have always gotten to us very quickly. I definitely recommend them.

We had to wait 3 days for an appointment but Jason was more than professional, courteous and explained the issue and fix. So 5 stars for you it is!

A-1 installed our new furnace and air conditioner last Spring. This review is way overdue but by now we've gone through both hot and cold seasons. Kirk was our "Senior Comfort Advisor" and point person. He was very responsive--to the point of checking his e-mail when he was on vacation and making sure our myriad questions were answered fully.

His listened well and his bid contained everything we wanted and no more. Our house was built in the 30's and still has its original air ducts. In addition, there was asbestos in the system. Different HVAC companies we received bids from had different recommendations and we were fully satisfied with Kirk's. The price Kirk quoted was fair and one reason we went with A-1 was the manufacturer's warranty, which couldn't be beat.

Later on we went back to Kirk for quotes for add-ons that other companies recommended so that we could make apples-to-apples comparisons, and A-1 was best in every instance. Casey was the person in charge of the install and he helped us choose the thermostat. We didn't want a smart thermostat and the one we got was perfect for us. We still appreciate its simplicity and large display.

The installation team was very polite, clean, and unobtrusive. They did a professional job. The external condenser fan had a problem from the beginning that was very difficult to trace, but Casey sent his team out multiple times and worked with the manufacturer to document the problem and get us a replacement in a reasonable amount of time. A final comment: We live in Berkeley.

The A-1 Guaranteed website does not say they serve Berkeley, but they do. In fact, a friend in Berkeley was the one who told me how great A-1 is, and she learned of them from a satisfied neighbor who had also had a system installed by A-1

I had scheduled a tune up of our furnace on Nov. 19 and the technician was suppose to arrive between 11 and 1. At a little before 11, I receive a call from Brian and he says he will be doing the service and that he is 10 minutes out. Promptly at 11 he arrives, which I truly appreciate as no one likes waiting. I'll keep it short, but Brian did a thorough inspection of the unit, found what issues were there and then went over them in detail with me regarding the unit.

What I liked is that he didn't try to sell me anything, but told me what to be aware of and, in the future, they can repair/replace what was needed. He also wore booties when he went inside our home, which shows me what a professional he was. When the time comes, we'll be sure to call them again.

Unbeknownst to me the pilot light on my water tank went out the day before Thanksgiving. I called A-1 early Thanksgiving morning before 7am as I am a platinum member and left a message. I was called back less than 10 minutes later and their on call service rep was at my house less than 45 minutes later to put the pilot light on. I signed up 2 1/2 years ago for their $40 a month service post getting a new water tank from A-1. Definitely worth the money to get same day service on a holiday! Total cost today - $3!

I have been using A-1 for several years now and have been very happy with their service. I'm on their Kasey club plan for my heater maintenance. I recently replaced all my heater air ducts that were failing and the entire process was flawless from the initial inspection by Kirk who is so knowledgeable, friendly and quickly responsive to later questions all the way to completion. Kenya in the office called with the schedule which consisted of 4 separate appointments and emailed as well.

The abatement team arrived on schedule but a few hours earlier than planned which was fine since we were home and that went smoothly. The following day for the job, the entire team showed up on time. They were all knowledgeable, efficient, friendly and courteous and team work was evident. All 4 guys did an exceptional job and cleaned up the entire area. Kudos to Jose, Mason, Tyler and Payton for a job well done!

They were short one register on the day of the job and said they would return the next day. Before 11 am today, it was delivered! Thank you A-1! I highly recommend A-1 for all of your home HVAC needs. They are an A++++ company!

Erik just stopped by to inspect my furnace and duct work as recommended by home inspector during purchase process. Erik was timely and professional. Explained everything he was doing and what he recommended and why. Will use them to do recommend repair work, which came in just under what inspector ballparked.

I've had both a new central heater and air conditioner installed by A1. The quality of workmanship on both jobs was excellent, they showed up on time and knocked out the jobs with a minimum of mess and impact to our home. Diane in the office is highly responsive and a pleasure to work with, and has since sent me copies of my paid invoices for my records when I lost my copies. I would recommend them to anyone seeking a replacement or addition of AC or Heating equipment.

I've been with A-1 for about 10 years and it's been mostly uneventful. I had my annual inspection about a month ago and it went smoothly. However this weekend I noticed it getting extremely hot in the middle of the night even though thermostat was set at 68 deg. I called A-1 and got a next day appointment. Brian came (on time) and worked very hard and long and fixed the (complicated) problem.

He was extremely pleasant and got the job done. Since I have the A-1 service plan, this long, complicated repair cost me only 28.00. Had been dreading dealing with this issue but it went really well!

We love this Company. The techs that have been friendly and informative. They impart information that helps understand how things work. More than fair service charges.

Company is pretty great. We had a heatpump installed and a emergency gas shut off valve. The work was done over two days. Guys were incredibly friendly and professional. They wore masks. They would come and ask questions if there were different options on how to do things. They cleaned up after themselves, provided context and information if or when it was missing. I can say I've never dealt with folks who work in HVAC, but these folks were fantastic.

Ever aspect of my experience with this company, from the initial estimate, my contacts with the main office personnel, the installation itself, and the follow-up wireless control, for my new heat pump system was absolutely top notch. Matt, the project manager, was especially helpful, knowledgeable, and responsive throughout the entire process, and an absolute pleasure to work with. I would recommend this company without hesitation to anyone in the market for a new HVAC system.

This is an updated review, Krissy personally reached out to me and set things right. Even though I did not complete my service with A1 the owner made things right by providing me a 100% refund of what I gave A1 for the initial estimates. Just based off the owners care for the customer I would recommend this business.

We have been customers with A1 for over 35 years. Each job and upgrade they have completed for is is handled perfectly. One furnace had an odd vibration that just could not be locate. One day the installer shows up and says he has an idea what was causing vibration. He did his magic and found the problem, a simple fix was the answer. Today Brian came by for the semi-annual checkup. He knows where everything is. No issues. Will see him in December. A-1 is the best there is and they are a longtime local business that does a lot in the community.

I just had Jacob come out and repair our aging AC unit. He was was very thorough and efficient and fixed the problem quickly while pointing out areas to pay attention to to help me prolong the life of this unit within reason. He was so great that I signed up for their discount program (small monthly fee) which saved me money on today's repair. I've had A-1 out here a few times over the past couple of years and each time the tech was everything I could have asked for.

This company employs good, competent, friendly, trustworthy people from everyone I've interacted with. I give them my highest compliments and rating and recommend them to anyone needing AC repair or maintenance. When it's time to replace my unit I will be using A-1!

Great service, friendly installers! Had a rough road to getting a new ac unit put on after getting scammed by another company I finally found A-1 Guranteed and they came out promptly and installed a new unit for a quarter of the cost of my costco estimate.
