I will never use this company again and recommend anyone to do the same. I am appalled that S&S would conduct business in this matter. Just like the previous reviews I was also lied to. The lady on the phone is who is representing S&S is trained in lying. I guess they trained her to tell all customers the same lie. That "you're next they are on their way" or my favorite one "they are in your building they should be knocking any minute.
I just got off the phone with the technician" I should have read the reviews before as and I see almost everyone has experienced something almost identical. I also realized that they don't even have a true website it's a WordPress blog. Never trust their BS advertisements. I see they take money and use it for advertising but their customer service speaks for itself. Garbage company who is dishonest to everyone they come across.
You will be receiving the complaint I just filed with the Better Business Bureau John F. Stone Jr. I see you already have a handful of complaints in the last 12 months. All of them unanswered. It's unfortunate that a person who is the president of the company John F. Stone Jr. couldn't care less about customer service and only about money. By the way you also have a complaint for ripping off an elderly 84 year old woman. That right there says it all. I hope everyone reads this and never used this company who doesn't deserve paying customer's hard earned money.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR ANY SERVICES. All this company does is lie. The lady on the phone kept telling me the person was at my building walking up to knock on my door. I checked all around where I live no truck in sight. 2 hours later I call back same thing. She had no issue telling me the same lie again. These people went home closed up and didn't even make the appointment. Appointment was set between 12PM and 2PM its 5PM and no one showed up. Judging from the rest of these reviews I see this company does not care about any customer at all.

I've been a landlord for 25 years and own 17 residential properties, so I've dealt with a lot of contractors during my career. S&S Heating and Cooling is without a doubt the worst company I have ever encountered. They scheduled ductwork cleaning for me at one of my rental properties In Reston this past Wednesday between 9 and 11 am. I called them at 10:30 am on Wednesday to confirm they were still coming.
A woman named Virginia said they couldn't make it due to a truck issue but could reschedule for the next day at a discounted price. On Thursday she called me early and said their employee who does duct cleaning was sick but she would guarantee they could do it on Friday. Big shocker that on Friday I called and Virginia said three of their guys had a virus, and they would have to cancel for the third day in a row.
She was obviously lying. I'm actually amazed they are still in business. The community in Reston where this fiasco happened is called Glenvale. Glenvale has been using them and recommending them for years. Evidently their founder left the business a while ago, and they went downhill quickly. I own 10 condos at Glenvale and will be attending their next board meeting to strongly recommend we no longer use or recommend S&S Heating and Cooling to anyone.

I was referred to them from my father-in-law and they did not disappoint. He is a slightly experienced HVAC guy, and he raved about the service that he got in replacing his unit. I have not had any mechanical work done by this place, but in my search for a new AC unit this group was the most thorough in assessing the problem. They did all of this for free as well. Assessed amperage, cleanliness of the coils, the air handler condition and clued me into some home remedies that I could do to increase the efficiency myself. In looking at the reviews, I haven't experienced anything like it. Nothing by compliments in terms of their customer service here! Thank you for your thorough assessment.

BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY! These people worsened the problem on my A/C unit. They advised that they would come out to properly fix it. No call no show twice in the last week. I have tried to get in contact with someone but it's the same lady who answers the phone says someone will call me back. They never do. Im still waiting for them to show up. Terrible customer service.

I am changing the number of stars they finally showed up this morning and the tech was super nice. He explained the issue very well. Fixed it in about 45 minutes. And I was able to go in to work still. My issue was the lack of communication between the office and myself. Im in logistics so I know schedules can get messed up but I still call my customers to fix the issue.
There should have been some way for the office to know a tech was not going to make it to my residence. I had other errands I needed to run yesterday and couldn't do them because I was afraid of missing the tech. Not having updates was the most frustrating part. They are all nice people. No one was ever rude that I spoke to, but they definitely need to check on the techs and customers more often.

Everytime I spoke to the woman who answers the phone she said about an hour. It is now 8:45 pm! No call. No show. Terrible service. How do they stay in buisness.
I tried calling the emergency line to try and get some sort of service. But of course no answer. What's the point of an emergency line if no one answers? How does a company just go home without even contacting the customer. Avoid them if you can.

My 90 year old mother has had these folks for over 15 years. They used to be good and responsive, but boy has that changed! She made THREE appointments to have her furnace serviced this fall and NO One showed up nor did they have the common courtesy to call her. Mom had to call them and was given some lame excuse about a family emergency. So everyone in the company had a family emergency for several weeks?
Mom left a final message: you're fired! I let the condo association know of S and S lousy service and they add them to the "Do not call" list. This company, once great, absolutely sucks now!

Terrible business. Scheduled a simple condensate line cleaning, and so far they have not shown up for a scheduled appointment FOUR times. No phone call, no notification. I'm honestly not sure how this place stays in business. To not even let your customer know that you'll be late, much less not even show up for an appointment multiple times in a row is absolutely disgraceful.
Every single time I've called, I've gotten excuse after excuse about how "the techs are very busy, we have a lot of appointments". I'm sorry, but the LEAST you could do is inform your customer that they won't be showing up. Take ownership of your business and your staff.

Have used them for around 10 years under a service contract and have now switched to someone else. Company has really gone downhill, now one of the worst contractors I've ever used. They schedule appointments and then don't even show up (twice), the last person that came out didn't solve the problem and I had to call another contractor, the woman who answers the phone has no idea as to their schedule (or anything else for that matter), etc. I could go on and on but I wanted to post this so others don't get treated like I did, do yourself a favor and call someone else.

Called company and scheduled appointment for service call that same day.well, NOBODY showed up, no call, nothing. Unfortunately, this is no way to build a business. We tried calling but nobody answered their phones until the next day, left three messages but received NO return calls. One star is too high of a rating.

On July 19 I had a scheduled appointment for annual maintenance checkup. No one showed up and no one called. I called the next day for another appointment. They came did maintenance checkup and my system was in good working order. Then on August 7th air conditioner not working. They came again on August 8 and discovered wire to the compressor was off and missing cups on wires.
To my surprise I was charged $170 for 15 minute job that in my opinion was caused during maintenance checkup. I feel taken advantage of and I called and voiced my displeasure and was told they cut me a break could've been $215. I will not be a returning customer anymore after 15 years. I will also pass this along to my condo association which contracts services with them. I'm very disappointed they don't value long time customers.

Their dispatch service needs improvement. Was scheduled this morning for AC inspection and given a 9 am to 11 am window. Tech showed up about 10:30 and provided service. Very professional. A few hrs later i noticed my condo was getting warm. Room temp showed 74 when setting was at 68. Temp continued to rise and I called owner, Sandy, and told her what was happening (this was at 2:39 pm). Sandy said she'd try and get someone and would call me back.
I waited 30 minutes and called her back and she said she probably couldn't get someone back out to my place until after 5. By 5:50 I hadn't heard from anyone so I called and left vm. again at 6:29. By now the room temp had climbed to 76. A few minutes later I get a call from the tech who had been at my place that morning and he had only just been alerted there was an issue (this was almost 4 hrs from when I first reported the problem to Sandy) yet the tech had just been informed and by then he was already home (a good 50 miles away).
Between the tech and I (my taking pictures of the closet off the patio of what I was seeing and the tech texting me back), it turned out he had simply forgotten to turn the main ac switch back on in the closet after he added refrigerant this morning. So what upsets me is I gave up my whole day waiting for soneone to get back to me when it turned out the tech was never alerted earlier there was a problem and I was having to sit in a hot house.
This is not the first time I've had an issue with S&S. Another time I took off from work only to find out that dispatch forgot to relay an appt to the tech and that was time I took off from work for nothing. Techs are good and they're nice, but I'm tired of the run around and inconvenience I get when dealing with S&S.
