They scheduled a service with our client a week out, I explained we are on a deadline, they said it wasn't a problem. We scheduled someone to meet them on site. I followed up to confirm service the night before- no response. An hour after they were supposed to be on site they called and decided they didn't want to do the work any longer, I asked to speak with a manger and the lady hung up on me.

Update as of 2/7/2022: After several months, Schmitt had no response to us and left our HVAC unfixed with $0 charges. Today, we had a technician from United Mechanical to take a look at our HVAC. It seems that technicians from Schmitt made our HVAC even worse! The best way is to change the whole HVAC. Although I prob not in the position to judge what went wrong, leaving customers with unfixed HVAC is not professional.

My experience with Schmitt was not good. Our HAVC has broken 2 months ago, I had Schmitt find the issue and waited for the parts coming. Staff from Schmitt came to our unit (always 1, 2 hours late on schedule) and spent 5,6 hours repair. Nothing fixed. We had to wait another week for them to repair it again. On the day of second try, they came an hour and a half late and told us that they called our HVAC manufacture tech support and figured that they had to order the parts again and re-do the repair process and left?!

This is NOT professional. You can have the call with tech folks anytime during the week before you arrange the time to come to our unit. With the pandemic, we have to arrange our meetings, calls from work for this type of arrangement. In this case, I have no idea when our HVAC can be fixed.

Requested a technician to come diagnose and repair my furnace. Paul arrived on time, quickly understood the problem, and made the repairs. He explained the issue to me very clearly. It was overall a great experience. I'll be sure to give them a call in the future if my furnace system has issues again. Service: HVAC system maintenance

I called them at 730 am and they had a service technician at my home by 9 am. He was very nice, explained all my issues thoroughly and options for my furnace. I usually get several estimates, but I felt so comfortable with what I was being told I let him order the parts that day. 3 days later my furnace was working. The staff at the office was very accommodating and the service technician was great! I would recommend their services and definitely use them again.

My experience with Schmitt started off great with excellent service, but their quality of communication, reliability showing up at the job site and getting the work done has really suffered recently. I'd like to revise this review upwards and truly hope this is lapse in quality is temporary and improves soon.

I left Schmitt after I became suspicious of being ripped off. Our electric bill was rising over the past 3 years. Within the last 3 years it started failing to cool down the house completely. Keep in mind I had paid the enormous price of $350 for their annual maintenance contract each year since I owned the house (2013) for 2 visits per year. The contract covered end to end testing and cleaning.

Never did they check the outside heat pump condenser coil to see if debris was preventing air flow. Never did they tell me that there was a refrigerant leak in the evaporator coil. They pretended to do work and left but I could not prove it. The straw that broke my camels back was calling them 4 months ago about the house not cooling properly during the day.

They came out on my second maintenance contract call to troubleshoot. They said there was no leak and everything looked great. But the refrigerant charge was a bit low. So they added 3 lbs of refrigerant. The charge did not last 2 weeks. I then called them back. They tried to find a leak and said it was the refrigerant valved outside on the heat pump that was leaking.

They replaced that and recharged the system. For that it cost me $170 for 30 minutes. It did not last 1 week. So I called them back requesting a more experienced mechanic to troubleshoot and find the problem. They never called me back so I call them again. They finally talked to me and I requested the more experience mechanic again at which time they hung up on me, so to speak.

I was transferred somewhere and put on hold for a long time. I smelled a rat and decided to take the group recommendation to call Mosley. Mosley found the leak within 5 minutes on-sight in the evaporator coil, a known defect as determined by a class action lawsuit. They did what Schmitt could not or would not do after years of visits.

Our building is configured with Mitsubishi split-type inverters in all 5 apartments. When one of the condensation pumps failed, we called around and were able to schedule an appointment for the very next week with Schmitt. Alex arrived right on time and was able to quickly assess the problem. Even though the condensation pump part had been discontinued by the manufacturer, he was able to source it through one of his regular suppliers.

It arrived promptly the following week and Alex returned, again right on time, to swap out the unit. Throughout the entire process, Alex was courteous, professional, and most of all, extremely knowledgable. Our tenant now has his air conditioning working again thanks to Alex of Schmitt Heating and Air Conditioning. Two thumbs way up!

Would give a 0 if I could! Terrible experience with them. We had a gas leak from our furnace and called PG&E who came out and identified the leak. We called Associated Heating and the guy came out to have a look only to tell us there is no leak. We soon smelled gas again the next day and called PG&E back out who confirmed once again it was a gas leak.

We called a different provider and they came out and confirmed indeed there was a gas leak and fixed it. The negligence of Associated Heating in this matter could have cost us our lives if the gas leak would have continued and PG&E was shocked that someone would come out and say there is no gas leak. People make mistakes and I get that, but in this industry and the severity of the issue, I needed to leave this review. They are also trying to come after us for the cost of the lack of service received! The gall!

My AC went out on a hot day. It was a Saturday and I could not stand to sit in my house without air conditioning. My only other alternative would be to go to a hotel with my pets. I decided to call the AC company early in the day. They came out and serviced my air conditioner. The motor had gone out. Yes, it was expensive, but it would be expensive no matter who you called. These people were good, provided good service, cleaned up after themselves and gave me a fair price.

Schmitt installed the original HVAC in my condo and the building. However they screwed up the job for my unit. The condensation could not be drained as the drain pipe was not properly installed. As a result, the internal coil rusted and knocked out the entire block of units A/C on my side. When they came in to inspect, they blamed the entire issue on me saying I hadn't cleaned the dust filters.

I have proof that I have indeed maintained and cleaned the dust jackets photographs I have taken regularly to show others how to do it. Basically they were finding an excuse to shirk their original responsibility and avoid blame. They were trying to charge me $3000 for their faulty install. After getting another A/C engineer in from a more reputable company, they found the problem and fixed it.

It cost me the same but at least they explained to me what was wrong and how badly Schmitt had done the job. All in all, these guys are horrible. They tried to get out of their responsibility and put blame for their own screw ups on others. Do NOT expect them to stand behind their work. They'll take your money and leave you hanging if there are problems. Worst company I have ever dealt with.

We had Javier come yesterday to do some duct work on a ventilation system. To cut to the chase - I will keep Schmitt's phone number on speed dial as they are the only ones I would ever call again! Great work, amazing price.

Our building needed a heating upgrade last summer. They installed 2 new Carrier furnaces and ductwork. The heater is amazing and keeps every room toasty during the colder SF months.

Paul was easy to work with and very knowledgable about older San Francisco homes. Scott and Randall were very punctual and professional. The best part is they found crawlspace to install heating ventilation throughout my home.
